In her free time, she enjoys the company of her cat Harry, listening to podcasts, and spending time with friends and her boyfriend in her hometown of San Marcos. She also nurtures her passion for music and art by participating in the local community choir.

Bailey grew up surrounded by the beauty industry, inspired by her mother, a talented cosmetologist who owned her salon. Her lifelong dream has been to empower others by enhancing their natural beauty and boosting their confidence. graduating from the Aveda Institute, Bailey launched her career at Black Orchid, completing her apprenticeship. When she’s not transforming her clients' hair, she loves spending time with her furry friends, exploring Austin's vibrant dining scene, traveling, and enjoying live music at festivals.

Kelcie has been styling hair for family and friends since her teenage years. As a proud Austinite, she took a leap and at The Aveda Institute Austin, where she quickly realized hairdressing is her true calling! Kelcie is passionate about her clients achieve their hair goals, from stunning color transformations to stylish cuts, whether it’s a mullet or flowing layers. When she’s at the salon, you can find her enjoying adventures with her daughter, Ophelia, baking treats, attending local shows, or indulging in reality TV with her cat, Pickles. Being vegan, she loves discovering the best vegan restaurants in town!

Vanessa believes the best hair looks effortless, but nothing is accidental. ; ) With over 20 years of experience, she is known for short, textured hair—from modern pixies to refined men’s grooming—while always tailoring each cut to the individual. Her work focuses on shape, movement, and styles that grow out beautifully. Her approach is relaxed but intentional, blending technical precision with an easy, collaborative energy in the chair. Committed to continual growth, Vanessa regularly invests in advanced education to keep her work current, thoughtful, and inspired. She believes great hair should feel lived-in, confident, and easy to wear—and she looks forward to creating a look that feels unmistakably you.

Miranda is originally from southern Canada, A.K.A. Minnesota, and began her career in Colorado before bringing her craft to Austin in 2015. With over a decade behind the chair, she loves creating hair that feels polished, personal, and confidence‑boosting. Outside the salon, you’ll find her crocheting, painting, building tiny dollhouses, or tending to her plant collection.

Veronica has a passion for hair that moves and flows. She thrives on creating wavy hairstyles, layered cuts, voluminous looks. She also enjoys the creativity of designing pixie cuts to enhance the natural hairline and texture. She prioritizes low-maintenance, healthy hair, in order to ensure your ability to enjoy your hair between visits. Having grown up in Austin, Veronica loves the vibrant music, delicious food, bike rides and beautiful nature the city offers.

Ashton began her journey in the beauty industry as a junior high school. Her passion for helping people feel their best continues to fuel her career today. With a unique blend of creativity and practicality, she listens attentively to her clients, their visions come to life.

A graduate of both the University of Texas and Vidal Sassoon Connection Academy, Lauren finds her joy in making people look and feel their best, and wouldn’t trade her career for anything. Lauren is dedicated to helping everyone love their hair and achieve their hair goals. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time at home with her husband Brian and their adorable fur babies, while indulging in comedies and guilty-pleasure reality TV, and traveling to enjoy live music whenever she can.

Frannie believes that healthy hair is beautiful hair. She specializes in personalized haircutting and natural-looking low-maintenance color that enhance your unique style. Frannie is passionate about making her clients feel their best with effortless looks and loves building connections with them to highlight their beauty. To ensure a thorough consultation, she encourages guests to bring inspiration photos, ensuring everyone is on the same page. When she's not in the salon, you can find her enjoying all things Sanrio, caring for her fur and plant babies, attending local shows, trying new foods, and embracing her as a cool aunt to four nieces and three nephews.

After graduating from barber school, Juan embarked on his career in the late 1900s, beginning his journey at an Aveda near the U.T. campus. He refined his skills alongside talented stylists but sought more, training with the director of education at Vidal Sassoon Academy in Santa Monica, California. During intensive creative courses, he discovered the artistry behind hair, transforming his approach from mere styling to true creativity. With an unquenchable thirst for knowledge, Juan has participated in various cutting courses at Vidal Sassoon Salons across Chicago and San Francisco and has completed Master Colorist training with Goldwell in New York and Vancouver. He inspires everyone around him to embrace growth and never settle for complacency. Throughout his career, Juan has built lasting relationships with countless clients, many of whom he proudly considers friends!

Kate is truly a gem in Austin, seamlessly combining exceptional customer service with remarkable hair skills! Her intuition ensures she listens closely to her clients, crafting the best possible experience and results. As Black Orchid Salon's first protégée, Kate transitioned from managing our front desk to the cutting floor, training under our talented Juan and Emali to her stellar reputation and devoted following. We can't but think that one day Kate's witty one-liners will grace the pages of a best-selling book! From "Liv Tyler is the world's most beautiful crier" to "Call it a 'dog eat dog' world if you want, but I'll always call it a doggy dog world," her humor is simply unforgettable!

Brittany, originally from a small town in Kansas, made her way to Austin and never looked back. Growing up in a salon with her hairstylist stepmother, she fell in love with the art of hair early on. Licensed since 2005, she’s known for creating effortlessly natural-looking color, seamlessly blending grey with highlights and balayage, and crafting rich, dimensional browns and reds. She has a knack for wavy textures and working magic with thick hair, making her clients feel like their best selves. When she’s not behind the chair, Brittany is working toward her Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and will eventually be a Licensed Professional Counselor, because she’s just as passionate about helping people feel good on the inside as she is about making them look great on the outside. She shares her home with her two adorable cats, loves exploring Austin’s food scene, watching movies, traveling, and experimenting in the kitchen.

Maggie is, unfortunately, not accepting new clients at this time. Maggie is originally from Northern VA but moved to ATX in 2009. She began her hair journey at the AVEDA Institute here in Austin. She fell in love with doing highlights to enhance your natural hair color. Maggie also enjoys doing pixie cuts, men’s hair, and working with your natural style. She wants you to feel like the best version of yourself every day, without having to overthink it. “Hair is right, Life is right” is her motto. She will keep your hair goals in a reality check while making you feel amazing working with what you already have. Maggie wants you to feel safe and comfortable in her chair. The best feeling for her is when a client cannot stop looking at themselves in a mirror. When Maggie is not making you feel like the best version of you, she is hanging out with her husband Demian, her son Leo, and dog Ozzie.

Emali is, unfortunately, not accepting new clients at this time. Emali, an Emerald-level Goldwell Master Colorist, has been a dedicated salon color educator for over two decades. With a passion for color, she has honed her skills as a stylist and color specialist.

Lilli is, unfortunately, not accepting new clients at this time. Lilli believes being a stylist is about crafting beauty and bringing joy to others every day—truly the best reward. With a keen understanding of the relaxed Austin vibe, Lilli excels at designing easy-care cuts that look fantastic around the clock. She enjoys creating styles that are quick to maintain in the morning yet can be transformed for a night out. Lilli also cherishes when clients come in for a refreshing shampoo and blow-dry before special occasions or elegant.

Sarahi is, unfortunately, not accepting new clients at this time. Sarah made the move from Montana to Austin to escape the chill and follow her passion for music. She thrives on empowering others, whether it’s by helping them achieve their dream hair, teaching them efficient styling techniques, or simply being their biggest cheerleader. “I want my clients to know they are in good hands and truly matter. "While sitting in my chair, they are my top priority.” When she's not at the salon, Sarah enjoys playing music, rock climbing, and spending quality time with friends and her dog. She's always eager to explore and welcomes recommendations for great places to eat, play, or enjoy the Austin scene.
